OUR STORY
Filipe Raposo and Rita Maria, him pianist and she the singer, were fated to meet. “When I was doing a Masters degree in Stockholm,” he says, “Rita came by to do a tour with Stockholm Lisboa Project in 2015, and that was the first time we decided to meet.” They exchanged messages, with poems by António Ramos Rosa, and then gathered for a cafe. Filipe glosses a poem by Teresa Muge, We will meet each other again, in conclusion: “Art lovers recognize each other at a distance by their affinities. At that moment, I knew we had project ahead of us. (…)” He arrived in Portugal and, two months later, Catarina Molder was inviting them to do a recording for her Opera television show, a Händels Aria. “We started scheduling concerts, responding to invitations (including the Jazz Festival in São Luiz).” And then came Oslo, a concert at Cosmopolite in November 2017. Them two, only voice and piano. “Supposedly not meant to be recorded. But as we realized that there were good conditions to record, I spoke to the technician and asked him to do a wav, stereo recording. “And suddenly we had an album!” Nuno Pacheco in ÍPSILON, 18 de Dezembro de 2018 |
